Good news horror fans, Scream Factory just dropped this special horror / comedy Blu-ray, Halloween announcement.

"Happy Halloween Everyone! We start off the best holiday ever on an exciting note by announcing that we have plans to release Tobe Hooper's wild Cannon-produced sequel THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 sometime before Summer of 2016!

Although we have no details to report at this early stage we can assure you that it will most definitely be a "Collector's Edition". More specifics will be revealed during the early part of the new year."

Synopsis:
Chainsaw-wielding maniac Leatherface (Bill Johnson) is up to his cannibalistic ways once again, along with the rest of his twisted clan, including the equally disturbed Chop-Top (Bill Moseley). This time, the masked killer has set his sights on pretty disc jockey Vanita "Stretch" Brock (Caroline Williams), who teams up with Texas lawman Lefty Enright (Dennis Hopper) to battle the psychopath and his family deep within their lair, a macabre abandoned amusement park.

Q: Is the U.S. Theatrical version a new transfer?
A: Unfortunately, we were not able to do a new transfer of the theatrical cut (which was provided by our partners at Universal). However, we did do additional color correction.

Q: Why is the International version a 4K transfer and not the Director’s Cut?
A: Our original intention was to do a new 4K scan on the director’s cut, so we started with elements that were available in the MGM vault. Unfortunately, we could not find all of the additional footage (film and audio) for the 96 minute Director’s Cut.
