Camille Keaton Returns as Jennifer Hills in Meir Zarchi's sequel to the 1978 film, "I Spit on Your Grave"
November 6, 2015 – 37 years after the release of the controversial 1978 cult classic I Spit On Your Grave, Camille Keaton has reunited with director Meir Zarchi to reprise her role of Jennifer Hills in its direct sequel, I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu.
I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu is the only sequel that shares characters as well as continuity with the original 1978 motion picture Day of the Woman a.k.a. I Spit On Your Grave.
Following her brutal rape, Jennifer wrote a best-selling account of her ordeal and of the controversial trial in which she was accused of taking the law into her own hands and ruthlessly killing her assailants. In the small town where the rape and revenge took place, the relatives of the four rapists she killed are furious that the court declared her not guilty and resolve to take justice into their own hands.
The original I Spit On Your Grave was inspired by Meir Zarchi’s experience with a victim of rape. After stumbling upon a teenage girl in a park in the aftermath of a violent assault, Zarchi began to imagine how a woman in this situation might fantasize about revenge. Moreover, he wanted to depict to the audience the real horrors of rape.
In this new chapter, Jennifer Hills is joined by her daughter Christy (Jamie Bernadette) as well as a variety of new characters, including Maria Olsen who plays the role of Johnny’s wife, the gas station attendant Jennifer castrated; Jim Tavare in the role of Herman, whose son Matthew was hung by Jennifer, as well as by actors Jonathan Peacy, Jeremy Ferdman, Holgie Forrester, Roy Allen and Alexandra Kenworthy.
“I always envisioned Camille Keaton returning to continue the saga of Jennifer Hills,” said Zarchi. “Getting together with Camille to film the sequel was a surreal, deja-vu-like experience”.

Pro-Wrestlers Vs. Zombies is exactly as it sounds — sports entertainment icons and local ring talent using their signature fighting styles, athleticism and anything they can get their hands on to fend off the undead. An abandoned prison is the battlefield as a troupe of professional wrestlers are booked for a private show, only to be faced with the undead. Unfortunately for the zombie nation, they aren’t just facing any group of professional wrestlers, they are facing living legends like WWE Hall of Fame “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Matt Hardy, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, former ECW World champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas and even Olympic medalist turned WWE and TNA World champion Kurt Angle!
Troma has entered the "square circle" with their foray in to sports and zombies. Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies is a spoof on the zombie genre and even on wrestling to a degree. The film is a bit silly fun and the blood at times appears to look like grape jelly. No the acting is not spectacular but that shouldn't be a surprise. It is nice to see Roddy Piper though and it's sad that he is no longer with us. Since zombies are so popular and there's always a something vs zombies film coming out, it was only a matter of time until wrestlers became involved.
AUDIO - [ 2.5 / 5 ]:
"Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies" sports an English Dolby Digital 2.0 audio track. The audio quality overall, is okay. The dialogue was fairly easy to understand but at times it could be drowned out by the music used in the film. The sound level of the music varied often and sometimes it overwhelmed the dialogue and sound effects.
VIDEO - [ 2.5 / 5 ]:
"Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies" arrives on to Blu-ray courtesy of Troma Entertainment. The film is presented in 1080p with a 1.78:1 Aspect Ratio. This film is a bit flat and cold in hue as far as colors are concerned. While the film is not particularly sharp, some of the more brighter scenes and close ups feature an increased amount of detail. In some of the darker scenes, the video looked very gritty in appearance.
SPECIAL FEATURES - [ 2.5 / 5 ]:
Intro (2:08) - After inserting the Blu-ray, an intro by Lloyd Kaufman plays automatically. Lloyd pays tribute to Roddy Piper, talks briefly about the film and also shows a clip of two Tromettes wrestling.
Audio Commentary with director Cody Knotts - Sadly this commentary track is out of sync from the start. While Mr. Knotts does talk about what is happening on the screen, it obviously doesn't work well due to it being out on sync. It is still work listening to for some background information on the actors and production.
40 Years of Troma (2:03) - A montage of shots from several Troma films.
TROMoMA (11:40) - This featurette talks about "Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 1" being part of the "Contender Series" at the Museum of Modern Art. Members of the cast also perform a dance.
Lloyd Kaufman's "It Gets Better" (1:36) - Lloyd talks about bullying, while bullying the crew.
Radiation March (:56) - A very brief old dance performance piece that talks about the dangers of pollution.

IN CONCLUSION:
While the film wasn't really for me, it may be for you. I admit that I don't watch professional wrestling anymore. I did many years ago. Anyhow, wrestling fans should find some enjoyment in the film. Plus of course there are zombies. The Blu-ray has fair audio and video.

Wanna Pass Gas? You won’t pass up the mind-bending special effects! The Tromaville student body is in danger again… and it’s not of flunking. Tromaville is under attack from a subhumanoid army led by the evil Dr. Slag and his perfectly proportioned partner Professor Holt (a woman scientist with really big hair, portrayed by Lisa Gaye). On top of that, TROMIE the Nuclear Rodent is raging mad! 3 times the evil of the original! 3 times the mutated monsters of the sequel! With subhumanoid twins battling for Tromaville, more bodacious babes than ever and 3 times the nuclear meltdowns, it’s all action and excitement in CLASS OF NUKE ‘EM HIGH 3 – The Good, the Bad and the Subhumanoid!
Part three of the "classic" Troma film series, which has somewhat been renewed with "Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 1" as well as "Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 2" which will hopefully come out early next year. While this film may be heavy on the cheese factor at times, it is a fun movie. Troma deserves some credit for providing some quality practical effects despite a low budget that look much better than some films made today with their poor CGI. The film offers a variety of interesting characters and even a cameo appearance of a legendary Troma character.
AUDIO - [ 3 / 5 ]:
"Class of Nuke 'Em High 3: The Good, The Bad and the Subhumanoid" features an English Dolby Digital 2.0 audio track. I found the audio to be fairly clear with easy to understand dialogue. The sound levels were balanced throughout. I did not encounter any problems such as excessive hissing, pops or audio dropouts. While the audio track will not wow anyone, it does do an admirable job.
VIDEO - [ 3 / 5 ]:
"Class of Nuke 'Em High 3: The Good, The Bad and the Subhumanoid" comes to Blu-ray thanks to Troma Entertainment. The film is presented in 1080p with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1. Overall I think the video quality looks pretty good all things considered. The colors looked strong with reds really standing out. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of detail present. The film looks really good in close up shots. Skin tones look natural and vary in appearance. A fair amount of white specks appear throughout the film. There are some moments where the video appears a bit soft but that could very well be a result of how the film was shot.
SPECIAL FEATURES - [ 2 / 5 ]:
Intro by Lloyd Kaufman (4:26) - When the disc starts up an intro with Lloyd Kaufman plays automatically. He briefly talks about the movie and twins, at which point a montage of breasts plays. For those wondering, I tested out the Top Menu button on my remote and was able to skip it. Audio Commentary with Troma Fan Jeff “The Encyclopedia Tromatica” Heywood - On the menu it says Director Commentary but by listening to it, that really does not seem to be the case. After doing some research, I learned that on a previous DVD release, Jeff Heywood provided a commentary and I believe that is what was ported over. It is not a particularly good or informative commentary. Often he gets distracted by what is happening in the film and stops talking. He does at one point acknowledge that he has been distracted by what is on screen and thinking about other Troma films. Interview with Troma Superstar Lisa Gaye (13:44) - Lloyd Kaufman interviews actress Lisa Gaye (Professor Holt). They discuss how she got started working for Troma, her career and some of her memories while filming. IN CONCLUSION:
If you are a fan of the Class of Nuke 'Em High series of films, you will want to also add this Blu-ray to your collection. For a lower budget film, the Blu-ray looks and sound quite good. It also comes with a few special features.

Nightmares is a 1983 American horror anthology film directed by Joseph Sargent, and starring Emilio Estevez, Lance Henriksen, Cristina Raines, Veronica Cartwright and Richard Masur. The film is made up of four short films based on urban legends; the first concerns a woman who encounters a killer in the backseat of her car; the second concerns a video game-addicted teenager who is consumed by his game; the third focuses on a fallen priest who is stalked by a pickup truck from hell; and the last follows a suburban family battling a giant rat in their home.
Urban Legend-Based Period Film Seeks Backers at All Levels
Ominous, directed by Lorenzo P. Adams and produced by Seth Scofield will officially launch its Indiegogo campaign today. The film seeks to raise $5,000 for filming that will take place December 2nd - 5th in Richmond, Virginia. Backer opportunities are available at all levels including limited producer level opportunities.
We may view urban legends today as trite and sentimental. These “friend of a friend” macabre stories, polished or pock-marked over the years with updated, timely details or absurd twists have cemented their place in our cannon of American folklore.
Kidney heists, Bloody Mary, alligators in the sewer: all resonate tales because in their lack of specificity they become eerily plausible, and we recognize a familiar predicament—one we’d dread.
Ominous is based on classic, “The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs” tale. However, this story is not based on spurious, slightly removed accounts. In true form to what makes this genre particularly terrifying and has instilled its longevity—it really happened. On March 18, 1950 Janet Christman was brutally murdered while she babysat. Ominous, set in 1965, is loosely based on this tragic event.
Director and Writer Lorenzo Adams explains his impetus for creating the film, “I've always been infatuated with things of the macabre, things that terrify us as human beings and terrors that have a touch of reality. Ominous is based on an urban legend that dates back to the 1950's. This story in my opinion is one of the first kind of home invasion horrors that predates films like The Strangers, Straw Dawgs, and Wait Until Dark. It birthed the horrifying reveal that gave many of us nightmares and questions as to if we were really safe within our own homes. Reality is one of the roots of true horror.”
Director of Photography Tyler Townsend and Production Designer Joyce Ha Young Oh are diligently working to create a look that honors the period with classical lighting, vintage lenses, and a specific adherence to color palette designed to beckon Postwar America.
The film is anticipated to premiere March 2016 in Washington, D.C.

Peter Herro and Cthulhu Crush Productions have debuted the first trailer for independent slasher WTF! Lensed around Los Angeles this summer, WTF! follows a survivor of a mass killing on a trip with six close friends, when her nightmare threatens to begin again.

MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS DVD SPECIAL FEATURES

The stoner film has almost become its own subgenre over the
years. Films such as True Romance, with Brad Pitts consistently stoned character
Floyd, have demonstrated the comedic value of a stoner character, however films
such as Soul Plane (2004) or Friday (1995) have taken this a step further and
produced entire films around getting high. The cult classic Cheech and Chong
trilogy from the 80’s do this with irritating perfection with The Big Lebowski
(1998) being the quintessential stoner film. Director Richard Cranor brings a
new blunt to the family with Star Leaf. But this is not your usual stoner film,
or your usual film at all.
Star Leaf follows veteran James Hunter (Julian Gavilanes)
and his ex-services buddy Tim Weaver (Tyler Trerise) and his Twihard girlfriend
Martha (Shelby Traux) as they travel to La Push for the surf (and a Twilight
tour for Martha) in an attempt to give James some R and R after his recent
tour. As they drive it becomes apparent that Tim has other ideas as he requests
a teensy weensy quick little stop off to visit a weed farm up in the forest
that is said to be home to some legendary leaf called Star Leaf. Whilst James
suspects that Tim wants to visit purely to get loaded, there are undercurrents
of PTSD and medicinal elements that Tim state will benefit James. However, when
the group find the marijuana Mecca they flaunt the rules and discover that the
powers that protect the crop are not best pleased. The three must now fight for
their lives in the marijuana haze of the forest.
Star Leaf is an intriguing and overall entertaining indie
film, though classing it as a horror film may be a step too far. A sci-fi
thriller/drama is a bit closer to the mark. The film is not your usual foray
into baked hallucinations and kaleidoscopic randomness set out purely to raise
some laughs. Star Leaf may have its prominent topic wrapped tightly, then
loosely, around weed, however there are deeper drags in this film. The film
looks at the topic of veteran PTSD and how this can manifest itself, as well as
the use of medicinal marijuana to treat it. Aside from James’ PTSD, there are
also hints at Tim suffering some sort of trauma too. It becomes apparent that
his adoration of all things green bears no real difference to James’ dependence
on prescribed medication.
Star Leaf provides wafts of deeper meanings in its plot,
whilst promoting the science fiction pot smoking aliens at its centre. There is
a definite indie feel to the film, which is in no way a criticism. The stylings
are reminiscent of 90’s Saturday afternoon adventure shows such as Andromeda,
but with a sharper script and more doobies'. The writing of the film, whilst not going to receive
any Academy Awards any time soon, has its comedy parts as well as its poignant
moments. Whilst the poignant moments may lack slightly in emotion, the humorous
elements of the script are much more impressive. The film does slip into the
usual territory of stoner films such as utterly nonsensical visions however it
manages to just about cling onto the plot running throughout it without going
too wildly off course.
The lush scenery is used to great effect with the 90’s
throwback effects adding in a blurred ethereal haze. Whilst the acting is not
completely up to par, the performances are solid in the most part with director
Richard Cranor taking on the part of Ranger Dave. The film flows well, with
trippy feral beasts moving to psychology and time travel. Cranor himself has
described the film as a mash-up of genres which is probably the best way to
describe Star Leaf. It is a unique concept that comes in a unique package,
including sexy Asian fairy porn and bear-humping moose.
Star Leaf is an acquired taste. There will be a student,
weed loving group of viewers that will enjoy the film, but if those others
amongst persevere, you may be pleasantly surprised. Get some friends, buy in
the beers and the pizzas and let yourself get taken on this mind bending head
mess of a film that actually ends up making some form of sense in some bizarre
roundabout way.
