A simple story of simple folk,who live quite happily secluded from the rest of the world,live off disability cheques,
and Moonshine sales,to passing traveling folk.with Hans Crippleton being quite the celebrity,in the world of Horror,
thanks to his inventive Horror tours.
A real likable fella,who talks like a mix between Ted from Bill & Ted and anyone of the Teenage Mutant Turtles, with a Southern Drawl mixed with surfer dude.
The other thing we find out is the Crippleton's decided to be so secluded,because of the Zombie outbreak after the Civil War,that has eventually taken all the Crippleton family,with only four of the bloodline left. Yes we have a film told Documentary Style,about the rise and fame of Hans Crippleton,with resounding Horror critic Barnaby Hunt, a British sounding very nice gentleman. Who throughout the documentary we find out that poor Hans has a drinking problem,and likes to flirt with the wrong sort of ladies,but he does have a fine range of Merchandise,with bobbleheads Hans, to his fine range of Hans endorsed underpants.
This film is not to be taken seriously for one moment,it is purely tongue in cheek humour, with some nice touches of violence and bloodshed,mixed with genuine laughs. A film that kind of reminded me of Spinal Tap, mixed with Deliverance,with Zombies thrown in for good Measure. Three scenes I found really funny, the scene with Hans's sister deciding if she needed a wash or not,but deciding to rub in the dirt,as the dirt would rub off the other dirt. Hans explaining to his cousin that he is not politically incorrect, but he does not like foreign immigration,we then see Hans battling with Mexican Zombies. The other funny scene is when he has to amputate his sisters leg after she has been bitten.
Directed by Jimmy Lee Combs,and written by Kevin Ward, and stars Andy Hankins and Lyle DeRose, a different film take on Hillbillies and Zombies,with some saying it is a gross stereotype of the under-classes , I disagree I find it is a film about the closeness of family,with a Zombie outbreak thrown in. A very cool film that I can recommend, it is available from November 17th everywhere from Uncork'd Entertainment.
