Twenty years ago a team of scientists attempted to contact an ancient race of beings. They failed, but unwittingly opened a portal into our world. That's when the killings began. Twenty years later Detective Mike Gregg is coming apart at the seams. His devotion to alcohol and one-nighters cost him the only thing he truly cares about. His family.

Detective Mike Gregg has a bond with his son's Justin and Robbie that is unbreakable and at times comical. He wants more than anything to reunite with his ex Denise. She is the love of his life, but ultimately keeping the job bottled up inside tore them apart. He will do anything to win them back and as you watch them together you will root for them to become a family again.

Mike Gregg is well respected by his peers and you will feel the camaraderie between Mike, his partner Detective Ed Mullins and Captain Randall Burton. The story line gets intense as the killings begin and Mikes frustration and bewilderment mount. What he is seeing can't possibly be real....or can it? As the investigation and mutilations continue Professor Richard Lyles shows up, a strange man with a stranger past, to give Mike the answers he is searching for but that just adds to the unimaginable world that is now Mikes reality. This will all build to a climactic ending that will have people talking about for a very long time to come!
